The Bagmati River, considered holy by both Hindus and Buddhists, flows through the city choked almost to a standstill with filth garbage and the remains of the cremated who have been pushed into the holy river. In this picture a cremation is nearly finished, shortly, what remains of the body, will be pushed into the river and from there it will make its journey all the way to the holy Ganges.
