Eagle Falls and Fannette island at Lake Tahoe. The island in Emerald Bay has had numerous names over the years, with Fannette being the one most used these days. I prefer Hermit Island after the hermit Captain Dick "them's my toes" Barter. Captain Dick, an English immigrant, lived on the island from 1863-1873 and built himself a private chapel and his own tomb on the island. He was never buried in his own tomb as he was lost in a storm while sailing on the lake. He was fond of showing visitors his self-amputated toes.
